How to animate a photo on iPhone
Open Tada, tap Make it Live and pick a photo. Choose how it moves, tap Save, and the picture moves in your Photos app as a Live Photo. The Photos app on its own can’t make a still photo move.

How to make a picture move
- Open Tada and tap Make it Live, then pick a photo: a person, a pet, a toy, a view. Screenshots work too; Tada frames the picture part first and you can move the frame.
- Choose how it moves: Breathe makes people breathe softly and Puff puffs up whatever you tap and lets it bounce back. Or use AI: Natural and Lively make the whole scene move, people blinking, smiling and turning their heads.
- Tap Save. It goes to Photos as a Live Photo. Touch and hold it to watch it move, or send it in Messages.
Free or AI
| Breathe, Puff | Natural, Lively | |
|---|---|---|
| What moves | One gentle motion, made from your photo’s own pixels | The whole scene: faces, hair, pets, water |
| Time | About a second, on your phone | 20–40 seconds |
| Cost | Free, as many as you like | 1 AI tada each (3 free) |
For Natural and Lively your photo is sent to our AI partners to make the video; Tada asks before the first time. See the Privacy Policy.
Post it as a video
Your tada is a Live Photo, so it plays in Photos and Messages. To post it where only videos play, open it in Photos and save it as a video.
