How to make a slideshow on iPhone
Open Photos, tap Select and tap the photos you want, then tap the More button and Start Slideshow (Play as Slideshow on iOS 26). It plays with music, and you can change the song, the transitions and how long each photo stays.

Make a slideshow from photos you pick
- Open Photos and tap Library.
- Tap Select, then tap each photo or video you want.
- Tap the More button, then tap Start Slideshow.
- While it plays, tap the screen to change it.
- Customize, then Transition & Duration: the transition style, speed and time per slide.
- Customize, then Music and Choose Song: a different song. Tap the Mute button for none.
- Customize, then Loop: play it over and over.
- The More button, then Share or AirPlay: send it, or play it on a TV.
On iOS 26 the button is called Play as Slideshow, and Apple points to the memory movie settings below to change the music and look.
Make a slideshow from an album
- In Photos, tap Collections.
- Open any album or collection.
- Tap the More button, then tap Start Slideshow.
An album is handy when you’ll want to play the same set of photos again.
Make a memory movie you can edit and share
Any album or collection can also play as a memory movie: open it under Collections and tap the Play button. It’s set to music too, and you can change more of it. While it plays, tap the screen, then:
- Customize, then Customize Look: Memory Looks pair a song with a matching style.
- Customize, then Music and Change Song: pick from memory soundtracks or suggested songs.
- Customize, then Transition and Duration: make it short, medium or long, with transitions such as crossfade or rotate.
- The Browse button: add, remove or reorder photos.
To share it, tap the screen as it plays, tap the More button, then tap Share. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro and later), you can also tap Collections, Memories, then Create, and describe the movie you want.
Give your slideshow some motion
Slideshows can mix photos and videos. To put a moving moment in yours, turn a Live Photo into a video first: open it, tap the More button and tap Save as Video, then pick that video along with your photos. More in how to turn a Live Photo into a video.
If your best shots are stills, Tada can make a few of them move. Open Tada, tap Make it Live and pick a photo. Natural uses AI to make water ripple, steam drift and leaves move, or people blink and smile a little, while the camera stays still. Tap Save, save the Live Photo as a video in Photos, and add it to your slideshow. AI tadas are made on Tada’s servers, and Tada asks before your first one (privacy). Need shots to fill it?
